Publisher review:Mail Notification monitors your mailboxes for new mail. When new mail arrives, Mail Notification alerts you by displaying an icon in the system tray. Moreover, a mail summary can be displayed in the icon tooltip, and notifications containing useful action buttons can be popped up.
It can monitor multiple mailboxes concurrently, and supports mbox, MH, Maildir, POP3, IMAP, Gmail, Evolution, Mozilla products (Mozilla, SeaMonkey, Thunderbird, …) and Sylpheed mailboxes.
Mail Notification supports advanced POP3 and IMAP features such as SSL/TLS connections (in-band or on separate port), SASL and APOP authentication, and the IMAP IDLE extension.
When a mailbox supports it, Mail Notification updates the status icon and mail summary immediately (or within seconds) after the mailbox changes.
Immediate notification is supported for mbox, MH, Maildir, IMAP, Evolution, Mozilla and Sylpheed mailboxes.
